Plaster embedded box for new constructions

Plaster embedded box for new constructions

Screen blinds are discreetly installed in both visible and plaster embedded box and their key feature is that they require the smallest box size among all external blinds. In new constructions, plaster embedded installation is possible, in which the screen box is installed under the facade.

Visible box for completed facilities

Visible box for completed facilities

If the building is already completed or during adaptations, the screen blind is usually mounted in a visible box. This mounting method allows easy installation without additional construction interventions. Roller shutter boxes and guide rails are made of powder coated extruded aluminium and are particularly robust and durable. There are two types of box shapes: 90° and 45°.

Novelty in new constructions

Innovative technology allows the guide rails to be discreetly installed under the facade, which creates a clean appearance of the facility.

Zip technology

The novelty of the zip screen system is the inclusion of a special zipper, which is welded to the edges of the fabric introduced into the side guide rails. The zipper achieves complete closure and tension of the blind. The advanced mechanism provides excellent wind resistance, and is also suitable as an insect screen due to its perfect sealing.

Fabric transparency

Tehrol screens are available in different fabric transparency to meet different requirements.

Transparent fabrics

Transparent fabrics

Transparent fabrics let light into the room, provide shade and create a bright and cosy ambience. The intensity of the light transmitted depends on the selected translucency of the fabric.

Blackout fabrics

Blackout fabrics

Blackout fabrics limit the amount of light that enters the room and provide greater privacy. Depending on the choice of fabric, they can darken the room completely or partially.

Crystal fabric

A translucent canvas is inserted into the screen fabric, which allows a view outside and protects against direct wind, which prolongs the use of terraces in the colder months in both private homes and in catering establishments.

Aesthetics

We offer a diverse range of colours for aluminium parts, including boxes and guide rails that are powder coated in different shades. This approach allows you to transfer your aesthetic vision into reality and perfectly harmonise the appearance of the blinds with the entire environment of your facility.

Would you like to learn more about screen blinds?

We have prepared answers to key questions for you.

  • Fabric transparency: Their peculiarity lies in the use of different translucence of fabrics, which allow for a different degree of visibility and privacy. These are transparent, semi-transparent and blackout fabrics. For more information on the translucency of fabrics, see question 8.

  • Blinds for larger dimensions: Screen blinds are an ideal choice for larger dimensions of windows or for closing balconies and pergolas. Their advanced technology enables efficient and reliable operation. They easily manage wider rooms, maintain stability and functionality while creating a stylish appearance.

  • Automation: The electric motors built into the blinds allow easy operation of the blinds via a remote control or switches. In addition, they are equipped with sensors that detect strong wind gusts or obstacles, which prevents possible damage to the blinds.

  • Elegant appearance: Screen blinds boast a modern and elegant appearance. Due to their attractive design, screen blinds are a popular choice among architects and facility owners, as they allow the creation of a modern and aesthetically sophisticated ambience.

  • Energy efficiency: As they block the sun's heat, screen blinds help keep indoor rooms cool on hot summer days. This reduces the need for room air conditioning, which can bring energy savings and reduce cooling costs.

Zip screen blinds represent an upgrade to classic screen blinds, as they include an innovative zip zipper system that allows the fabric to be tightly attached to the guide rails. This special system ensures that the fabric is always taut and moves smoothly up and down the guide rails. The zip zipper system provides zip screen blinds with high resistance to wind loads. Tightly fastened fabric in combination with zip zippers provides effective shading of the room and reduces the passage of light and heat on the sides. At the same time, it also allows you to maintain privacy by as it prevents a direct view of the interior of the room.

We recommend the plaster embedded version of the zip screen system for your new construction. The plaster embedded version allows the blind box to be hidden under the facade, which ensures an aesthetically perfect appearance of the facility. With this design, the blind housing is installed in the wall in front of the prefabricated window, which contributes to a clean and tidy appearance of the facade. In addition, the plaster embedded version is also distinguished by its novelty - plaster embedded guide rails. These guide rails are also hidden under the facade, which means that they are not visible as in classical construction, where the guide rails are attached to the window frame. This innovative installation method ensures an even more inconspicuous appearance of the blind when it is fully rised, and additionally emphasises the aesthetics of the facility.

Screen blinds work on the basis of a special fabric, which is usually made of glass fibres interwoven with PVC coatings. This fabric, with its microscopic openings, allows air to pass through while effectively reducing the passage of light and heat. When the screen blinds are lowered, their fabric acts as an effective filter for sunlight. Openings in the fabric limit the free passage of light, which brings a reduction in light intensity and harmful UV radiation. In this way, the blinds provide effective shading of the room, while preserving the natural light, which creates a pleasant atmosphere in the interior. Particularly special are the blackout fabrics for screen blinds, which reduce light transmission even more intensely. These fabrics are usually coated with special layers that completely block the light. When the screen blinds with the blackout fabric are lowered, practically all the light outside stops and does not penetrate into the room. This allows for darkening of the room and privacy, as well as effective protection against unwanted light influences.

Internal and external screen blinds differ in functionality and installation.

  • Installation: Internal screen blinds are mounted in the interior of the rooms on the wall or ceiling, in a decorative cassette or without it. External screen blinds are mounted on the outside of the windows in a plaster embedded or visible box.

  • Function: The main function of internal screen blinds is to limit the passage of light into the room and reduce glare, which allows comfortable living and working in the room. In addition, interior blinds add a decorative element to the interior aesthetics of the room. External screen blinds affect the external appearance of the facility and contribute to thermal regulation.

  • Energy efficiency: External blinds are more energy efficient, as they prevent the glass from heating up and reduce heat transfer into the room. External screens are therefore a recommended choice for those who want to increase the energy efficiency of the building.

  • Light regulation: In light regulation, both internal and external screen blinds are equally effective, as fabrics are used in different transparency, from more transparent to blackout. Internal blinds are also available in decorative patterns that complement the interior aesthetics of the room, and external screen blinds have a significant impact on the external appearance of the facility. The choice between internal and external screen shades depends on various factors, including desired effects and personal preferences. For those who want to improve energy efficiency, reduce heat transfer and improve the external appearance of the facility, we recommend choosing external screen blinds. However, if the main priority is the regulation of light in the interior of the room and an additional decorative element, internal screen blinds are a more suitable choice.

Screen blinds can be operated in a variety of ways, including manual and automated operation. Operation options include:

  • Manual control: With the rotating bar on the side of the blind, the position of the blind is easily and precisely adjusted.

  • Motorised operation: The blinds are operated by an electric motor. Motorised operation allows convenient operation via a switch or remote control. Electric motors are equipped with mechanisms to detect obstacles and excessive wind gusts. With the help of these mechanisms, the blind automatically rises if it detects an obstacle in its path, which prevents possible damage to the blind or facility. The blind also automatically rises in the event of excessive gusts of wind, ensuring its safety and protection against damage.

  • Automated operation: More advanced options include automated operation of blinds. Sensors such as solar or wind sensors detect environmental conditions and automatically adjust the position of the blinds. Automated operation can also include program timers to set the operating schedule of the blinds. Integration with smart home systems allows you to control the blinds through smart devices such as smartphones or tablets.

Screen blinds are the most suitable choice for shading pergolas, terraces and balconies for several reasons. First, their ability to adapt in larger dimensions allows extensive shading of larger areas, ideal for spacious terraces and balconies. Secondly, screen blinds stand out for their wind resistance, thanks to the durable materials and zip zippers on the side, which ensure the stability and optimal performance of the blind. Third, they allow shading of the terrace while maintaining the view outward. Transparent blind fabrics can be used to enjoy the surroundings and keep in touch with the outside world. And fourth, screen blinds come in a variety of colours, patterns, and designs, allowing you to customise your terrace style and create an aesthetically appealing appearance. When choosing blinds for pergolas, terraces and balconies, screen blinds are a reliable and effective solution that combines practicality, durability and aesthetic appeal. For additional professional advice and tailored selection, it is always advisable to consult with blinds providers who can provide an optimal solution according to specific needs and requirements.

Various fabric transparency is available with screen blinds, allowing light levels and privacy to be adjusted. Common transparency of fabrics include: T

  • ransparent fabrics: Transparent fabrics allow light to pass through the blind while maintaining some privacy. They are suitable for natural lighting and partial glare reduction. They are recommended for living rooms, dining rooms and offices.

  • Semi-transparent fabrics: Semi-transparent fabrics provide moderate light reduction and maintain privacy. They are often chosen to create soft shading and a partial view to the outside.

  • Blackout fabrics: Blackout fabrics greatly reduce light and ensure complete privacy. They are suitable for a room that you want to completely darken or provide privacy. These fabrics are best suited for a room such as a bedroom, bathroom, cinema rooms or offices or conference rooms with slideshows. When choosing the transparency of a fabric, it is important to consider your specific needs, the desired level of light and the degree of privacy you want to achieve.

Maintenance and cleaning of screen blinds is crucial for their long-term operation and aesthetic appearance. Here are some tips for effective cleaning:

  • Manual cleaning: Use mild soapy water and a damp cloth to remove stains and dirt on screen blinds. Gently wipe the surface of the blind. You should avoid using aggressive cleaning agents or abrasives as they can damage the fabric.

  • Proper cleaning of automated blinds: If you have screen blinds that are operated by an electric motor or remote control, be careful not to damage the electrical parts during cleaning. Disconnect the power supply before you start cleaning. Avoid using high-pressure cleaners, as a strong jet of water can damage the fabric and structure of the blind. Use gentler cleaning methods rather than manual wiping. Regularly inspect the screen blinds for any signs of malfunction. If you notice any problems or defects on the blind, take action as soon as possible to prevent any serious damage to the blind.
